Completing this expansion propels the Autism School into a new era of impact. It creates the vital space needed for students to find their voices and for families to gain unwavering support. Securing this growth ensures our resources are invested strictly in the potential of our learners and the educators who guide them.

We sincerely want to thank those of you who have donated previously to our small school for non-speaking autistic children and youth. Your generous donations helped us complete the required landscaping to satisfy the town of Gilbert, AZ, and to obtain our Certificate of Occupancy.

We were able to hold a short summer session at the school and have been functioning at full capacity this semester. A few weeks ago, we held an open house for the community, families, and friends to help us celebrate the completion of the conversion of farm property to a beautiful campus for non-speaking autistic children. It was a wonderful celebration, but, at the same, it was bittersweet. Our waiting list for students to attend the school increased by 15 students, which is more than the 13 students who presently attend. We just don’t have the capacity for more students. It broke our hearts that there are so many families whose non-speaking autistic children can’t communicate with them. One mother, who saw our banner, came in her pajamas and wept as she told us that her son is 13 years old, and she has never been able to communicate with him. He has become very aggressive and is undoubtedly frustrated at not being able to communicate.

We have set an aggressive goal to expand. Our goal is to raise $500,000 to rent or purchase a portable, hire and train additional teachers, and provide school supplies for the additional students. This will take a lot of work and expense! However, we have anonymous donors who have agreed to donate funds of $200,000. We hope to raise the remaining $300,000 through your generous donations and other fundraisers.
